Defiance Fishing Seminar 'Get Together'
« on: April 14, 2012, 06:32:14 PM »
Several ABOG members showed up at the Fishing Seminar/ Swap Meet held at the Defiance dealership adjacent to the Bremerton Airport.  I got to meet several new faces and Raimmo  Finfin ( he's not new  ) along with Kimber, PNW Pride, Scuba Greg, T2ShortB, and a one that I don't recall the name  :nono:

Here's pictures of the suspects - PNW Pride  ( I didn't have my camera when we were talking)

Greg,

good to see you and PNWpride there as well. Didn't get to meet the others, I might have been too buisy playing with those rockfish rigs outside...  :shrug9:

Would have been nice to put some faces to names.... Maybe I'll run into a few of you guys this year on the water...

anyway,
A great event with lots of great people... Bo and his guys did an awesome job!   :beerchug:

Last years event was just as good, and I'm sure next years will be great as well.

Just the kinda thing to get you fired up for the up-coming seasons!!!

Yep it was great meeting more of you guys today.  I wanted to stay longer after the tuna seminar and buy things but I had to dash to make sure I wouldn't be late to take my wife out to dinner.  Got home, changed, took off , picked up my son in Renton and made it to Daniels in Bellevue with 10 minutes to spare.  Damn they do a good steak.  Damn I'm full.  For some reason my son never turns down an invite to that place.

Nice to seethe crew getting together !!  I spent all day yesterday at a local Boat and Marine Industry Show with my sons Sea Cadets... Not one ARIMA   :shrug9:

Just wanted to mention as well for all of you that come up to fish in Canada.. a rockfish jig like that would be illegal here... No gear designed to catch more than one fish at a time.. except for when fishing for herring.. Wouldnt want to see any of you get Pinched !!!!

Thanks GD, hook count restrictions in Canada was mentioned.  Knowing ahead of time is a good thing.   :smile1:

You can use multiple hooks in Most areas... just have to be set up to only catch one fish at a time..

Good point. If I got it right you can have multiple hooks on your line, but can not have droppers. Use of treble hooks sounded like it would be OK too? The no droppers rule is kind of funny, since - again if I got it right - you can fish several rods at a time. Oh well.

Great point there gooddays....

Not being a Canadian waters fisherman, I didn't know that, as I am sure a few here didn't as well!

These are some of the reasons that the brotherhood of the board is such a good thing.... guys looking after each other !!!  :beerchug:

Bang on Finn.. No droppers. Trebles are ok in almost all areas.. there are a few single barbless only areas but they are very specific ( Rivers Inlet, the Tyee Pool. etc..).   All salmon fishing must be with a barbless hook (wether it be a single or a treble). Bottomfishing you can use a barbed hook but must release any salmon caught. (unless you go barbless...)

a barbed hook can bring a $150 fine and possibly seizure of your gear....
